경기북부보훈지청이 동지를 앞두고 보훈가족들과 따뜻한 정을 나누는 시간을 가졌다.
경기북부보훈지청은 지난 19일 남양주보훈요양원(원장 심재일)에서 '동지 맞이 보훈나눔의 날' 행사를 개최했다고 밝혔다.

이날 행사에서 박용주 지청장은 남양주보훈요양원에 입소한 보훈가족들을 직접 찾아 KT와 본죽이 후원한 팥죽 세트를 전달했다.
박 지청장은 "긴 겨울 동안 건강관리에 유의해 달라"며 어르신들의 건강을 당부했다.
동지에 팥죽을 먹는 풍습은 겨울철 악귀를 쫓고 건강과 행운을 기원하는 우리 고유의 전통으로, 현대에는 겨울철 건강을 기원하는 상징적 문화로 자리잡았다.
팥죽 세트를 받은 김 모 어르신은 "맛있는 팥죽을 먹으니 올 겨울도 거뜬할 것 같다"며 경기북부보훈지청과 후원업체에 감사의 마음을 전했다.
