경기북부보훈지청이 수십 년간 전달되지 못했던 독립유공자 포상을 후손들에게 전달하며 뒤늦게나마 국가의 예우를 다했다.
지청은 23일과 24일 양일간 '독립유공자 후손찾기 사업'을 통해 확인한 독립유공자 3명의 유족에게 포상을 전수하는 의미 있는 행사를 가졌다고 24일 밝혔다.
23일 경기북부보훈지청 청사에서 열린 첫 번째 전수식에서는 故 윤규영 지사와 故 이삼봉 지사의 후손이 선조의 포상을 받았다.

윤규영 지사는 1919년 4월 충남 청양군에서 독립만세운동에 참여한 공로를 인정받아 2022년 대통령 표창을 받았다.
이날 외손자가 참석해 표창을 수령했다.

이삼봉 지사는 1932년 충남 대전군에서 비밀결사 조직인 적색소년동맹을 결성하고 동맹파업 선전문을 작성하는 등 항일 투쟁을 전개한 공적으로 2020년 건국훈장 애족장을 받았다.
훈장은 그의 자녀에게 전달됐다.

24일에는 故 원창달 지사의 포상 전수식이 이어졌다.
원 지사는 1919년 3월 양주군 진접면에서 독립만세운동에 참여하다 일제에 체포된 공로로 2024년 대통령표창을 받았으며, 외손녀가 참석해 포상을 수령했다.
박용주 경기북부보훈지청장은 "늦게나마 독립유공자의 후손을 찾아 포상을 전달해 드릴 수 있게 되어 매우 뜻깊고 영광스럽게 생각한다"며 "조국 독립을 위해 삶을 바치신 선열들의 숭고한 희생을 잊지 않고, 앞으로도 유족분들이 자긍심을 느끼며 살아갈 수 있도록 예우에 최선을 다하겠다"고 말했다.
