신한장학재단이 2026학년도 신규 장학생 모집에 나서며 사회적 배려 대상 학생에 대한 중장기 인재 육성 지원을 확대한다.
신한장학재단(이사장 진옥동)은 12월 22일 2026학년도 중학교 3학년 진학 예정자와 대학 입학 예정자를 대상으로 신규 장학생을 선발한다고 밝혔다. 선발 대상은 저소득층, 순직·공상 유공자 자녀, 자립준비청년, 다문화 가정 등 사회적 배려 대상 학생 가운데 학업 의지와 성장 가능성이 높은 학생들이다.
선발된 장학생에게는 학업 지속을 위한 생활비와 자기계발비로 연 최대 600만 원이 지급되며, 성과가 우수한 학생에게는 연 200만 원의 추가 장학금이 제공된다. 이에 따라 학생 1인당 연 최대 800만 원 규모의 지원이 가능하다.
재단은 단순한 금전 지원에 그치지 않고 진로·진학·직무 멘토링, 분야별 전문가 특강, 취업 역량 강화 프로그램, 해외 석·박사 과정 연계 프로그램 등 중장기 성장 프로그램도 함께 운영할 예정이다.
신한장학재단은 2006년 신한금융그룹 출연으로 설립된 이후, 취약계층 중·고·대학생과 법학전문대학원생, 순직·공상 유공자 자녀 등을 대상으로 장학사업을 이어왔다. 현재까지 약 3천 명에게 총 415억 원 규모의 장학금을 지원했다.
재단 측은 “경제적 여건과 관계없이 공정한 교육 기회를 제공하는 것이 핵심 목표”라며 “학생들이 학업과 미래 준비에 집중할 수 있도록 실질적인 지원을 계속 확대하겠다”고 밝혔다.

The Shinhan Scholarship Foundation is opening applications for its 2026 scholarship program, expanding long-term support for students from socially disadvantaged backgrounds.
The foundation announced on the 22nd that it will select new scholars among students entering the third year of middle school and those preparing to enter university in the 2026 academic year.
