【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=충북 진천군립도서관이 이용자 중심의 편리한 도서관 환경을 조성하고 생활 속 독서문화 확산을 위해 다양한 사업을 추진하고 있다.
현재 군립도서관은 쾌적한 자료 공간과 학습공간을 조성해 연간 11만여 명의 이용자가 찾는 문화 거점으로 운영되고 있다.
이와 함께 신규도서와 취약계층을 위한 도서 등 총 2천 600여 권을 구매해 지식 접근성을 한층 강화했다.
디지털 독서환경 확충에도 힘을 쏟고 있다.
연중무휴로 운영되는 전자도서관을 통해 전자책 2천 400여 권과 오디오북 4천 200여 권을 구비해, 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않는 독서 서비스를 제공하고 있다.
또한, 24시간 운영되는 무인반납기를 설치했으며, 약 5천 권의 도서가 비대면으로 반납되는 등 이용자 편의성도 크게 향상돼, 군민의 도서관 이용 만족도를 높이고 있다.
아울러 관내 작은 도서관 활성화를 위해 공립 작은 도서관에 600여 권의 신규도서를 지원하고, 어린이 사서 도우미 운영과 다양한 독서문화 프로그램을 추진해 1천 500여 명이 참여하는 성과를 거뒀다.
지역 간 문화인프라 불균형 해소를 위해 사립 작은도서관에도 도서 구매와 독서문화 프로그램 운영비를 지원하며, 균형 있는 독서환경 조성에도 힘쓰고 있다.
이 밖에도 영유아와 가족 단위 이용자를 대상으로 △아기와 함께하는 책사랑 운동 △책 읽어주는 도서관 △찾아가는 와글와글 도서관 놀이터 △가족이 함께 즐기는 북 피크닉 등 세대별 맞춤형 프로그램을 운영하며 군민의 독서 참여 기회를 지속적으로 확대하고 있다.
정태호 군 평생학습센터 주무관은 “앞으로도 도서관이 단순히 책을 보관하는 공간을 넘어, 자연스럽게 배움과 문화가 어우러지는 생활 밀착형 지식문화 공간으로 자리 잡을 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
