파주시가 GTX-A 운정중앙역의 폭발적인 이용 수요에 대응하기 위해 주차장 확충에 적극 나섰다.
시는 26일 운정중앙역 임시주차장2 추가 조성 사업을 완료하고, 252면 규모의 주차면을 새롭게 확보했다고 밝혔다.
이번 확충은 지난 11월 임시주차장 1구역에 60면을 추가 조성한 지 불과 한 달여 만에 이뤄진 것으로, GTX-A 운정중앙역의 급증하는 이용객으로 인한 주차난 해소를 위한 긴급 조치다.

시는 추가 부지를 신속하게 확보해 대규모 주차공간을 마련했으며, 이번 2차 확충으로 운정중앙역 임시주차장은 총 1,321면 규모로 대폭 늘어나게 됐다.
이는 최근 GTX-A 개통 이후 지속적으로 증가하는 이용 수요를 반영한 것으로, 출퇴근 시간대 주차공간 부족 문제가 상당 부분 해소될 것으로 기대된다.
