고양특례시가 공릉천을 친환경 저탄소 수변공간으로 조성하기 위한 주민 소통에 나섰다.
시는 지난 26일 관산동 행정복지센터에서 제3회 공릉천 저탄소 수변공원화사업 주민협의체 회의를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
주민협의체는 지역 주민 대표(관산동·원신동)와 수자원개발·조경·환경 등 분야별 전문가, 시 관계자로 구성돼 있으며, 합리적인 사업 추진 방안 마련을 위해 운영되고 있다.

이번 회의는 주민 의견을 폭넓게 수렴하기 위해 참여 범위를 관산동 직능단체장과 경기도의회 및 고양시의회 의원까지 확대했으며, 주민설명회 기능을 병행하는 형태로 진행됐다.
회의에는 주민협의체 위원, 도·시의회 의원, 지역 직능단체장, 시 관계자 등 18명 내외가 참석해 사업 설계구상안에 대한 발표와 질의응답을 이어갔다.
저수호안 정비계획, 이용자 안전계획(보안등·CCTV 등), 탄소저감계획, 조경식재계획, 친수시설 조성계획, 기타 시설물 배치계획 등이 심도 있게 논의됐다.
시는 이날 제시된 주민과 전문가의 의견을 면밀히 검토하고 관계 부서 및 기관과 협의해 실시설계에 반영할 계획이다.
시 관계자는 "이번 회의는 참여 대상을 확대해 주민설명회 성격으로 함께 운영함으로써 보다 폭넓은 의견을 수렴하는 의미 있는 자리였다"며 "앞으로도 주민협의체를 지속 운영해 주민과 전문가의 의견을 적극 경청하고, 공릉천을 시민이 체감할 수 있는 친환경·저탄소 수변공간으로 조성하겠다"고 말했다.
공릉천 저탄소 수변공원화사업은 지난해 12월 경기도 주관 '경기북부 대개발 저탄소 수변공원화사업' 공모에 선정된 사업이다.
덕양구 원당동 원당교부터 벽제천 합류부까지 공릉천 구간을 대상으로 총 50억 원(도비 40억 원, 시비 10억 원)을 투입해 단절된 하천길을 연결하고, 시민들이 일상에서 자연을 체험하며 여가를 즐길 수 있는 친환경 친수공간으로 조성하는 것을 목표로 하고 있다.
