이번 기부금은 지난 증평인삼골축제에서 새마을식당을 운영하며 얻은 수익금으로 마련됐다.
남현순 회장은 “그동안 장학금으로만 기탁해 왔는데 올해는 고향사랑기부금으로 뜻을 전하게 됐다”며 “따뜻한 연말, 지역 발전에 보탬이 될 수 있어 매우 기쁘다”고 말했다.
이재영 군수는 “증평읍새마을부녀회는 매년 봉사와 나눔을 실천하며 새마을정신을 널리 확산시키는 지역사회의 든든한 동반자”라며 “지역사회에 환원해주신 뜻을 소중히 받아 증평군 발전에 귀중히 활용하겠다”고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
