【브레이크뉴스 대구】진예솔 기자=경북대학교사범대학부설초등학교 차소정 교사가 ‘2025 대한민국 수학교육상’ 수상자로 선정됐다. 이번 상은 교육부가 주최하고 한국과학창의재단이 주관한다.
차 교사는 학생들의 탐구 질문을 수업의 출발점으로 삼고, 과정 중심 평가와 피드백을 통해 수업을 꾸준히 개선해 온 점이 우수 사례로 인정받았다.
‘대한민국 수학교육상’은 수학교육 발전에 기여한 교원을 발굴·포상하고 우수 사례를 전국적으로 확산하기 위해 2016년부터 도입됐다. 매년 전국 초·중·고 교원 가운데 최대 10명 이내의 수상자를 선정한다.
차 교사는 학생들이 직접 제기한 질문을 중심으로 수업을 설계해 생산적인 수학적 논의를 이끌었다. 또 결과보다 학습 과정을 중요하게 평가하고, 전반적인 수업에 피드백을 적극 반영해 지속적으로 수업을 개선해 왔다. 이러한 교수·학습 방식은 학생들의 사고력 신장과 수학적 자신감 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 준 것으로 평가된다.
이 밖에도 차 교사는 수학학습 클리닉과 ‘기초튼튼·학습 도움닫기’ 프로그램 등 다양한 활동을 통해 학습 격차 해소에 기여했으며, 학생들의 자기효능감 향상에도 의미 있는 성과를 냈다. 2022 개정 교육과정 초등 수학 교과서 집필에도 참여하며 교육과정의 현장 안착을 이끌었다.
또한 영재학급 지도와 통계 아카데미 운영 등 탐구 중심 수학교육을 실천하는 한편, 대구수학체험센터, 파이데이, 창의융합지원단 등 지역 수학문화 확산을 위한 활동에도 적극적으로 참여했다. 놀이 중심 수학교육 확산을 위해 보드게임 지도자 자격을 활용하고, 교원 연수와 학술 활동을 통한 전문성 강화 노력도 이번 수상에 밑거름이 됐다는 평가다.
강은희 대구시교육감은 “이번 수상은 수업과 평가 혁신을 통해 학생들의 사고력을 키워 온 교사의 노력이 인정받은 값진 결과”라며 “앞으로도 교원의 전문성 강화를 위한 연수와 지원을 이어가 교사가 성장할 수 있는 교육 환경을 만들어 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

He has also implemented inquiry-based math education through teaching gifted classes and operating a statistics academy.
