이번 후원은 대구도시개발공사 정명섭 사장이 지역사회 취약계층의 겨울철 건강과 안전을 돕기 위해 마련한 것이다.
대구도시개발공사는 핫팩과 패딩담요, 넥워머, 기모장갑 등 방한용품 400개를 지원했으며, 해당 물품은 대구행복진흥원 산하 소속시설을 이용하는 생활인과 이용자들에게 배부됐다.
대구도시개발공사는 2023년에도 2,500만 원 상당의 방한용품을 후원한 데 이어, 2024년에는 방한 장갑과 넥워머 등 1,500만 원 상당의 물품을 지원했다. 또, 올해 여름에는 폭염 대응을 위해 핸디형 선풍기와 양우산을 전달하는 등 계절별로 생활 밀착형 지원을 3년 연속 이어가고 있다.
이처럼 꾸준한 나눔 실천은 한파와 폭염에 취약한 노인과 장애인 등 취약계층의 건강을 지키는 데 실질적인 도움을 주고 있다. 더불어, 공공기관 간 협력을 통한 지역사회 안전망 강화의 모범 사례로 평가받고 있다.
배기철 대구행복진흥원 이사장은 “3년째 이어지는 대구도시개발공사의 나눔은 일회성 후원이 아닌, 지역사회와의 신뢰와 연대를 보여주는 실천”이라며 “후원받은 물품을 소속 시설 생활인과 이용자들의 건강과 안전을 위해 소중히 활용하겠다”고 감사의 뜻을 전했다.
