브레이크뉴스 노보림 기자= 하랑갤러리는 지난 12월 3일부터 7일까지 미국 플로리다주 마이애미 마나 윈우드 컨벤션 센터(Mana Wynwood Convention Center)에서 열린 ‘레드닷 마이애미 2025(Red Dot Miami 2025)’에서 권용자 작가가 ‘최우수 전시작가상(Best Exhibitor Award)’을 수상했다고 30일 밝혔다.
레드닷 마이애미는 매년 4만 명 이상의 VIP 컬렉터와 미술 관계자들이 방문하는 ‘마이애미 아트 위크(Miami Art Week)’ 기간 중 개최되는 대표적인 국제 아트페어다. 올해 행사에는 전 세계 75개 이상의 엄선된 갤러리와 500여 명의 작가가 참여했다. 이 가운데 권용자 작가는 독창적인 조형 언어와 깊이 있는 철학적 사유가 담긴 작품 세계로 심사위원단과 평단의 높은 평가를 받으며 수상의 영예를 안았다.

이번 전시에서 권용자 작가는 대표 연작인 ‘Time Brushing(시간의 결)’ 시리즈를 선보였다. 판화와 회화의 경계를 넘나드는 작업을 이어온 그는 시간의 흐름과 공간의 변화 속에서 축적되는 개인의 감정과 기억의 흔적을 섬세하게 표현했다. 현지 큐레이터들은 “권용자의 작품은 침묵 속에서도 강한 울림을 전하며, 관람객이 자신의 기억과 감정을 자연스럽게 투영하게 만드는 힘이 있다”고 평가했다.
