충남 서산시가 한 해 동안의 성과를 되돌아보며 ‘법고창신(法古創新)’의 정신으로 완주한 2025년을 마무리했다.
31일 서산시 문화회관 대공연장에서는 이완섭 시장과 시 공직자 600여 명이 참석한 가운데 종무식이 열렸다. 이날 행사는 국민의례와 표창 수여, 송년사, 시 노래 제창 순으로 진행됐으며, 참석자들은 한 해 동안의 노력을 함께 되새기며 서로를 격려했다.
행사 마지막에는 직원들이 새해 소망을 적은 종이비행기를 날리며 2026년의 안녕과 도약을 기원하는 이색적인 퍼포먼스도 펼쳐졌다.
서산시는 올해에도 굵직한 성과를 이어갔다. 2월에는 지속가능항공유(SAF) 종합실증센터를 유치해 약 3천억 원 규모의 외부재원을 확보했으며, 가로림만은 국내 첫 국가해양생태공원으로 지정됐다. 또한 보원사지 오층석탑이 국보로 승격되는 문화재 보존 성과도 거뒀다.
市는 근로자 복지 개선에도 힘썼다. 비정규직 근로자지원센터를 직영체제로 전환했고, 외국인근로자지원센터를 7월 개소해 다문화·노동 지원 기반을 확대했다. 환경 분야에서는 친환경 자원회수시설을 13년 만에 완공하며 지역의 숙원사업을 마무리했다.
시민의 여가와 생활환경 개선을 위한 기반시설도 차근차근 조성됐다. 풍전저수지 둘레길이 시민들의 새로운 산책 명소로 자리 잡았고, 중앙호수공원 사거리는 회전교차로로 개편돼 교통 흐름이 한층 원활해졌다.
