이재명 대통령이 2일 “국민 통합이 가장 중요하고 시급한 과제”라고 밝혔다.
이 대통령은 이날 오후 청와대 영빈관에서 열린 2026 신년 인사회 인사말에서 "생각이 다르다는 이유로 서로 등 돌리거나 차이가 극단적 대립 씨앗 되는 그런 사회는 결코 앞으로 나아갈 수 없다”며 이같이 말했다.
그러면서 "갈등을 키우기보다 공존·화합 길을 찾고 성장 속도만큼이나 상생 책임을 고민할 때 대한민국이 다시 한 번 큰 도약을 이뤄낼 수 있다 확신한다”며 "새해는 회복·정상화 토대 위에서 대한민국이 대도약을 향해 힘차게 달려 나가는 새 한 해가 될 것”이라고 했다.
또 "대도약 과업 앞에 서 있는 모두에 가장 필요한 건 익숙한 옛길서 벗어나 끊임없이 혁신하며 대전환 길로 거침없이 나아가는 용기”라며 "자본 집중·기회 편중이 성장을 가로막고 경쟁·갈등 악순환으로 이어지는 오늘에 과감히 기존 성장 전략을 대전환해야 한다”고 주장했다.
이어 "해법은 분명히 있다"며 "기회·과실을 모두 함께 고루 나누는 모두의 성장만이 대한민국을 대도약 미래로 이끄는 지름길이라 생각한다”고 주장했다.
더불어 "앞서 말씀드린 성장·도약 과제는 정부·기업 힘만으로 이룰 수 있는 일이 아니다"며 "변화를 바라는 국민의 뜨거운 열망·의지를 하나로 모으는 일이 그 뭣보다 중요하다”고 덧붙였다.
