제37대 진천 부군수로 취임한 전 부군수는 진천군과 두 번째 인연이다.
전 부군수는 지난 2023년 7월 34대 부군수로 발령받고 약 6개월간 근무 후 2024년 1월 1일 충북도 방사광가속기추진과장으로 자리를 옮긴 바 있다.
이후 2026년 1월 1일 지방부이사관으로 승진하며 다시 한번 진천을 찾았다.
전 부군수는 별도의 취임식은 생략하고 다시 만난 진천 공직자들, 관계기관과 인사를 나눈 뒤 서둘러 업무 파악에 나섰다.
충북도에서 바이오, 홍보, 세정, 기획, 경제 등 주요 보직을 두루 거친 것은 물론 34대 부군수로 근무하며 이미 진천군 현안에 대해 누구보다 잘 알고 있어 원활하게 군정을 운영해 나갈 것으로 기대를 모으고 있다.
한편 충북 청주시 오창 출신인 전 부군수는 1990년 진천군 초평면에서 공직에 발을 들였다.
이후 1992년 충북도에서 자리를 잡은 그는 서울세종본부장, 자치경찰행정과장, 진천 부군수, 방사광가속기추진과장을 거쳤다.
전 부군수는 “좋은 기억을 갖고 떠난 진천군에 다시 오게 돼 기쁘게 생각한다”며 “2026년은 민선 9기 출범을 앞둔 중요한 시기로 군민에게 안정감 있는 마무리와 기대되는 미래를 선물하기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
