[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 산청군이 대한민국 새단장 캠페인 추진 실적 평가에서 ‘우수지자체’에 선정됐다고 5일 밝혔다.

행정안전부가 주관한 이번 캠페인은 지난해 9월과 10월 두 차례 전국 단위 환경정화 운동으로 추진했다.

대외적으로는 아시아태평양경제협력(APEC) 정상회의의 성공적인 개최를 도모하고 대내적으로는 국민 생활공간을 개선해 주거환경의 질을 높이기 위해 마련됐다.

산청군은 지자체장이 참여한 군 단위 대한민국 새단장 캠페인을 비롯해 각 읍면별 대한민국 새단장 캠페인, 사회단체 캠페인, 내 동네 청소하기 캠페인 등 다양한 활동을 펼쳤다.

 이에 전국 지자체 243곳 중 환경정화활동 추진성과, 홍보·교육실적, 주민참여도 등 항목에서 높은 점수를 받아 우수지자체에 이름을 올렸다.

이번 선정으로 산청군은 특별교부세 5천만원을 확보하게 됐다.

이승화 산청군수는 “이번 캠페인이 일회성 환경정화 운동에 그치지 않도록 지속적으로 추진해 군민 생활에 보탬이 될 수 있도록 하겠다”고 말했다.
