[브레이크뉴스=-배종태 기자] 부산시가 북미·북극권 거점 도시와의 협력 강화와 세계 최대 정보기술(IT) 전시회 CES 참가를 통해 글로벌 물류·첨단산업 허브도시로의 도약에 나선다.
박형준 부산시장은 4일부터 10일까지 4박 7일 일정으로 미국 앵커리지와 놈, 라스베이거스를 순방하며 북극항로 협력 확대와 첨단산업 글로벌 네트워크 구축에 나선다.
박 시장은 5일 알래스카주 앵커리지시청에서 부산시-앵커리지시 우호협력도시 협정을 체결하고, 항만·물류, 관광, 에너지자원, 인적 교류 등 다양한 분야에서 협력 기반을 마련한다. 이어 알래스카 주지사를 예방해 경제·산업 협력 방안을 논의하고, 북극항로와 연계한 물류 협력 가능성을 점검하기 위해 앵커리지 항만을 방문한다.
6일에는 북극항로 핵심 거점으로 주목받는 놈(Nome)시를 찾아 시장 및 항만 관계자들과 면담하고, 베링해협 인근 심해항 개발 예정지를 방문해 북극항로 시대를 대비한 협력 방안을 모색한다.
이후 박 시장은 라스베이거스로 이동해 세계 최대 가전·IT 전시회인 ‘CES 2026’을 참관한다. 통합부산관을 찾아 참가 기업을 격려하고 글로벌 바이어·투자자와의 교류 현황을 점검하는 한편, 미국소비자기술협회(CTA) 부회장과 면담을 갖고 부산 기업의 지속적인 CES 참여와 전시 협력 확대 방안을 논의할 예정이다. 부산 기업들은 이번 CES에서 최고혁신상 2개를 포함해 총 13개의 혁신상을 수상했다.
또한 박 시장은 NFL 라스베이거스 레이더스의 홈구장인 얼리전트 스타디움을 방문해 첨단 기술을 접목한 복합 스포츠·엔터테인먼트 시설 운영 사례를 살피고, 스포츠 콘텐츠를 활용한 관광·문화 산업 확장 전략도 검토한다.
박형준 시장은 “북극권 물류 거점인 앵커리지와의 협력과 CES를 통한 글로벌 첨단기술 확보는 부산이 글로벌 허브도시로 도약하는 중요한 전환점”이라며 “미래 전략산업 육성과 도시 경쟁력 강화를 통해 세계가 주목하는 혁신 성장 도시로 만들어 가겠다”고 밝혔다.

The city of Busan is accelerating its push to become a global logistics and technology hub by strengthening cooperation with North American and Arctic regions and engaging with cutting-edge industries at CES 2026.
Busan Mayor Park Heong-joon is on a seven-day visit to the United States from January 4 to 10, traveling to Anchorage, Nome, and Las Vegas to expand international cooperation in Arctic logistics and advanced industries.
On January 5, Busan and the City of Anchorage will sign a sister-city cooperation agreement at Anchorage City Hall, laying the foundation for collaboration in ports and logistics, tourism, energy resources, and people-to-people exchanges. Mayor Park will also meet with the Governor of Alaska to discuss economic and industrial cooperation, and visit the Port of Anchorage to explore logistics opportunities linked to Arctic shipping routes.
On January 6, Mayor Park will travel to Nome, a key strategic point along the Arctic route, where he will meet with city officials and port authorities to discuss intercity cooperation and Arctic logistics development. He will also visit the planned deep-water port development site near the Bering Strait, a flagship Arctic project promoted by the U.S. government, to assess future development trends and Busan’s potential strategic role.
From January 7, Mayor Park will attend CES 2026 in Las Vegas to review global technology trends and explore ways to integrate Busan’s advanced strategic industries with global innovation. He will visit the Integrated Busan Pavilion, supporting 28 participating companies, and meet with global buyers and investors. Discussions with a vice president of the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) will focus on expanding Busan companies’ participation in CES and strengthening exhibition cooperation. This year, Busan companies earned a total of 13 CES Innovation Awards, including two Best of Innovation honors.
Mayor Park will also visit Allegiant Stadium, home of the NFL’s Las Vegas Raiders, to examine world-class sports and entertainment facilities that incorporate advanced technologies, and exchange views on sports-driven tourism and cultural industry development.
Mayor Park said, “Cooperation with Anchorage, a key Arctic logistics hub, and securing advanced technologies through CES mark a critical turning point for Busan’s leap into a global hub city. We will continue to strengthen future industries and city branding to position Busan as a globally recognized innovation-driven city.”
