노보 노디스크는 5일(현지 시간) 글루카곤 유사 펩타이드-1(GLP-1) 계열 비만 치료제 위고비를 경구용 정제로 미국 시장에 출시했다고 밝혔다. 기존 주사제로만 제공되던 위고비를 알약 형태로 개발해 복용 편의성을 높인 것이 특징이다.
위고비 알약의 성분은 세마글루티드로, 성인 체중 감량을 위한 최초이자 유일한 먹는 GLP-1 치료제다. 승인된 용량은 1.5㎎ 시작 용량을 비롯해 4㎎, 9㎎, 25㎎ 등 총 네 가지다.
