이재명 대통령이 6일(현지시간) 중국 베이징에서 자오러지 전국인민대표대회 상무위원장·리창 총리을 연이어 접견하고 한·중 관계를 ‘오랜 친구’에 비유하면서 관계 전면 복원 의지를 드러냈다.
청와대에 따르면 이 대통령은 이날 오전 베이징 인민대회당에서 자오러지 상무위원장을 만나 "굳은 신뢰 기반 위에 한·중 관계를 더욱 발전시켜 나갈 수 있도록 중국 전인대의 적극 지지·성원을 부탁드린다"고 밝혔다.
그러면서 "시진핑 주석과의 회담을 통해 양국 정부 간 정치적 신뢰와 민간 부문 우호적 신뢰를 바탕으로 한·중 전략적 협력 동반자 관계를 성숙히 발전시켜 나가는 데 뜻을 함께 했다"며 "이같은 양국 관계 발전에 전인대 역할이 그 어느 때보다 중요하다 생각한다"고 했다.
더불어 "민의를 대표하는 기관으로서 사회 전반 인식·다양한 목소리를 대변함으로써 양국 간 상호 이해를 높이고 공감대를 확장해 나가는 데 중요 기여를 할 것으로 믿는다"고 덧붙였다.
자오러지 위원장은 "건강·안정·지속적으로 심화하는 중·한 계가 양국 국민들 이익에 부합하고 지역·세계 평화와 안정·발전과 번영에 유리하다"며 "시 주석과 (이)대통령의 전략적 지도 아래 중·한 관계가 다시 한번 정상 궤도로 복귀했고 새 국면을 맞이했다"고 말했다.
또 "중국은 한국과 함께 양국 정상 간 이룩한 중요 공동 인식을 잘 이행하고 소통·조화를 강화하며 각 분야 협력을 심화함으로써 중·한 전략적 협력 동반자 관계가 안정적으로 멀리 갈 수 있도록 함께 주도하겠다"고 했다.
이 대통령은 이날 또 오전 베이징 조어대에서 리창 총리를 만나 “친구는 오래될수록 좋으며 옷은 새것일수록 좋다”며 “오래 사귄 친구일수록 정이 깊다”고 말했다.
그러면서 전날 시진핑 주석과의 정상회담을 언급 후 “민생·평화에 기여할 수 있는 방향으로 한·중 전략적 협력 동반자 관계를 더 성숙히 발전시키자는 데 뜻을 모았다”며 "양국이 시대 변화에 걸맞게 수평·호혜적 협력을 확대하고 한반도·역내 평화·안정을 증진하며 실용·상생 길로 함께 나아가길 기대한다”고 했다.
이어 “이번 방문은 2026년 병오년 시작을 알리는 첫 국빈 정상 외교 일정”이라며 “올해를 한·중 관계 전면 복원 원년으로 삼고 관계 발전을 되돌릴 수 없는 시대적 흐름으로 공고히 하려 한다”고 했다.
리창 총리는 “중국은 시종일관 대 한국 관계를 중요 위치에 두고 있다”며 "양국 정상의 전략적 지도 아래 전략적 소통을 강화하고 협력 범위·깊이를 확대해 양국 국민에 더 많은 복지를 가져다줄 용의가 있다”고 밝혔다.
강유정 청와대 대변인은 이날 서면 브리핑에서 "대통령은 중국 주요 지도자들과의 연쇄회담을 통해 정치·우호적 신뢰와 민생·평화를 중시하는 공감대를 바탕으로 한·중 전략적 협력 동반자 관계를 성숙·발전시켜 나가기 위한 구체적 방안을 논의 예정"이라고 전했다.
한편 이 대통령은 이날 2박 3일 간의 베이징 일정을 모두 마치고 상하이로 이동해 1박 2일 일정을 소화 후 오는 7일 귀국길에 오른다.
