지역교통안전환경개선 평가는 각 지자체가 한 해 동안 추진한 교통안전환경개선사업의 성과와 정책적 노력도를 종합적으로 평가하는 제도로, 파주시는 보행자 안전 확보와 교통약자 보호를 위한 지속적인 투자와 체계적인 사업 추진 노력이 높은 평가를 받은 것으로 나타났다.
특히 어린이보호구역 개선 사업과 보도 설치 사업, 스마트 횡단 시스템 구축, 교통사고 예방을 위한 안전 문화 홍보활동 등 생활 밀착형 교통안전 사업 전반이 긍정적인 평가 요소로 작용했다.
