파주소방서가 6일 오후 2시 청사 3층 대회의실에서 의용소방대 남·여 연합회장 이·취임식을 개최했다.
이번 행사는 지역사회를 위해 헌신해온 이임 회장단의 공로를 치하하고, 새로운 리더십의 출범을 축하하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 제11대 김영일·최성순 연합회장이 이임하고, 제12대 송기석·반은주 연합회장이 새롭게 취임했다.

김영일·최성순 이임 회장은 수십 년간 의용소방대원으로 활동하며 연합회장을 맡아 조직 운영의 내실화를 이끌어왔다.
두 회장은 "시민 안전이라는 사명 하나로 달려온 시간이 뜻깊었다"며 "후배 회장단과 대원들에게 따뜻한 응원을 보낸다"고 소회를 밝혔다.
취임한 송기석·반은주 신임 회장은 "새로운 책임을 맡게 돼 막중한 책임감을 느낀다"며 "앞으로 의용소방대가 더욱 전문적이고 체계적인 조직으로 성장할 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다"고 포부를 밝혔다.
의용소방대는 재난 대응 현장에서의 보조 활동뿐만 아니라 화재 예방 홍보, 취약계층 안전 점검, 주택용 소방시설 설치 지원 등 다양한 방면에서 시민 안전을 위해 활동하는 자원봉사 조직이다.
파주소방서 의용소방대는 각종 재난 현장과 봉사활동에서 지역민의 든든한 동반자로 자리매김해왔다.
