임기수 회장, 세종시에 300만원 기부

세종시는 한국타이어 춘천판매㈜ 임기수 회장이 7일 고향사랑기부금 300만 원을 기부했다고 밝혔다.

시에 따르면 임 회장은 매년 1월 연양초 졸업생들에게 장학금을 전달하며 꾸준한 나눔을 실천하고 있으며, 올해에도 연양초 졸업생 14명에게 장학금 350만 원을 전달했다.

특히 임 회장은 고향사랑기부제가 시작된 2023년부터 매년 기부에 참여하면서 올해 4년 연속 기부를 이어오고 있다. 누적 기부금은 총 1,700만 원에 달한다. 

임 회장은 남다른 기부 정신을 인정받아 최근 대한민국 인물 대상 선정위원회가 주관하는 ‘올해를 빛낸 인물 대상’을 수상하기도 했다.

임 회장은 “기부를 하면 행복감을 느끼기에 나를 위해 기부하는 것”이라며 “이왕이면 내가 나고 자란 고향 세종이 더욱 잘되기를 바라는 마음으로 매년 기부하고 있다”고 전했다.

최민호 시장은 “고향에 대한 깊은 애정으로 4년 연속 기부를 이어온 임기수 회장님께 감사의 말씀을 전한다”며 “이러한 따뜻한 나눔은 세종시 발전의 큰 힘이 되고 있다”고 말했다.

Sejong City announced on the 7th that Chairman Lim Ki-soo of Hankook Tire Chuncheon Sales Co., Ltd. donated 3 million won to the Hometown Love Donation Program.

According to the city, Chairman Lim has consistently practiced giving by providing scholarships to graduates of Yeonyang Elementary School every January. This year, he presented 3.5 million won in scholarships to 14 graduates.

Chairman Lim has been donating annually since the launch of the Hometown Love Donation Program in 2023, marking the fourth consecutive year of donations. His cumulative donations now total 17 million won.

In recognition of his exceptional charitable spirit, Chairman Lim recently received the "Person of the Year" award from the Korea People Award Selection Committee.

Chairman Lim said, "I donate for myself because I feel happy when I donate. I donate every year with the hope that Sejong, my hometown where I was born and raised, will continue to prosper."
