[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 경남 고성군이 최근 고성탈박물관 리모델링 공사를 마치고 전통과 현대를 잇는 문화체험의 장으로 변모한다.
고성군은 지난 2일부터 시범운영에 들어간 고성탈박물관을 오는 12일 재개관식을 갖는다고 밝혔다.
재개관을 기념하는 행사는 오후 2시 40분부터 통영삼현육각 보존회의 공연으로 시작된다. 해금 정은주, 피리 정석진, 대금 정승훈이 참여해 ‘굿산조’를 선보인다.
군은 도비·군비를 합쳐 총 20억원을 투입해 지난해 한 해 동안 리모델링 공사를 진행했다.
군은 리모델링을 통해 내부 전시공간을 재배치·보강하고, 수장고를 확대했다.
1층 중앙로비에는 고성오광대의 대표 인물인 말뚝이를 활용한 ‘말뚝이 영상 일기(브이로그)’ 콘텐츠를 배치해 관람의 시작부터 흥미를 유도하고, 관람객 휴게공간을 함께 조성해 편안한 관람 환경을 제공한다.
상설전시실은 경남지역 탈 문화인 고성오광대, 통영오광대, 진주오광대 등을 소개하고, 하회별신굿 등 마을굿놀이 계통 탈을 선보인다.
2층 기획전시실에서는 고성탈박물관 개관 20주년을 기념하는 특별전을 열고, 박물관의 발자취와 탈 문화의 가치를 조명한다.
2층에는 다목적 문화공간 '사랑채'가 새로 조성됐다. 이곳은 휴게뿐만 아니라 강의·교육·회의 등 다양한 목적으로 사용할 수 있다.
기존 2층 일부 공간에 있던 수장고는 이번 리모델링을 통해 3층으로 확대 배치됐다.
고성탈박물관은 2025년 실감형 체험시설 구축사업 참여기관에 최종 선정되어, 실감형 콘텐츠를 통해 전통 탈놀이의 역사적 배경을 재현한다.
이번 실감형 콘텐츠는 고성 오광대와 같은 전통 탈놀이를 몰입감 있게 체험할 수 있는 기회를 제공한다.
관람객은 조선 시대 고성오광대 놀이판 한가운데에 있는 듯한 몰입감을 경험하게 되며, 정월대보름 밤에 마을 남성들이 모여 탈놀이를 즐기던 풍속을 실감 나게 체험할 수 있다.
군 관계자는 "탈박물관이 전통과 현대를 잇는 문화체험의 장으로, 지역 문화의 중심지 역할을 수행할 것으로 기대한다"고 말했다.
