고양특례시가 글로벌 투자유치와 국제 협력 네트워크 강화를 위해 미국과 일본을 잇는 해외 순방길에 오른다.
이동환 고양시장을 단장으로 하는 대표단은 7일부터 13일(현지시간)까지 미국 라스베이거스와 일본 하코다테를 방문해 기업 투자 유치와 자매도시 교류 확대 방안을 모색한다고 밝혔다.
대표단은 8일 미국 라스베이거스에서 미국과 호주 소재 디지털 AI 인프라 투자·개발 회사와 업무협약(MOU)을 체결한다.
이번 협약을 통해 올해 본격 분양에 들어가는 일산테크노밸리 등에 글로벌 기업을 유치하기 위한 구체적인 방안을 마련할 계획이다.

이어 8~9일에는 세계 최대 규모 IT·가전 전시회인 'CES 2026(국제전자제품박람회)'에 참관해 최신 기술 트렌드를 파악하고, 고양시의 미래 전략산업 육성과 글로벌 협력 확대 기회를 모색한다.
특히 대표단은 CES 전시장 내 고양시 참가 기업인 ㈜쿼터니언, ㈜스마트메디칼디바이스 부스를 직접 방문해 전시 현황을 점검하고 기업 관계자들의 현장 의견을 청취할 예정이다.
또한 로보틱스, 디지털 헬스, AI 웰니스 홈 등 전시관의 혁신 기술을 살펴보며 향후 기업 지원 정책에 반영할 계획이다.

마지막 날인 13일에는 하코다테 공립미래대학을 찾아 IT와 미래 기술 분야의 협력 방안을 논의하고, '청년 간담회'를 열어 양 도시 미래 세대의 교류 사업에 대한 의견을 수렴한다.
