고양특례시가 생활폐기물 감량과 재활용 촉진을 위해 올해 자원 재활용 활성화 사업을 대폭 확대한다.
시는 9일 시민 참여형 재활용 보상제도를 강화해 실질적인 분리배출 참여를 이끌어낸다는 계획을 밝혔다.

시는 시민이 깨끗하게 분리한 재활용품을 가져오면 품목별 무게를 측정해 현금 또는 포인트로 보상하는 '자원순환가게'를 현재 15개소에서 올해 20개소로 확대할 예정이다.
이를 통해 시민 접근성을 높이고 재활용 참여를 활성화한다는 방침이다.
특히 시는 자원순환가게 운영 체계를 노인 일자리사업과 연계해 자원 재활용 촉진과 함께 사회적 일자리 창출이라는 두 마리 토끼를 잡을 계획이다.
투명페트병과 캔을 회수하는 재활용품 무인회수기도 지난해 11대에서 올해 7대를 추가 설치해 총 18대로 확대된다.
이 장치는 인공지능(AI) 기술을 활용해 이물질 제거 여부 등을 자동으로 판별하고, 올바르게 배출된 재활용품 수량만큼 포인트를 적립해주는 시스템으로 운영된다.
