【충북 브레이크뉴스】김봉수 기자=음성군은 9일 금왕읍 행정복지센터에서 ‘금왕읍 도시재생사업’과 관련해 2026년 우리동네살리기 공모사업 추진에 대한 주민설명회를 개최했다.
이번 설명회는 인구 유출과 건물 노후화로 활력을 잃어가는 금왕읍 무극2리 일원에 생활밀착형 공공시설 공급을 통해 새롭게 탈바꿈시키고자 마련됐다.
이날 지역 주민 30여 명이 참석해 △공모사업 추진 배경 및 필요성 △사업 내용 및 선정 기준 △향후 추진 일정 등에 대해 설명을 듣고, 질의 응답시간을 통해 의견을 나누는 시간을 가졌다.
‘우리동네살리기 도시재생사업’은 집수리 지원사업과 생활 편의시설·공동이용시설 확충을 통해 인구 유출과 건물 노후화로 침체된 소규모 주거지역의 정주 환경을 개선하고, 생활밀착형 공공시설을 신속히 제공해 노후 주거환경을 향상하는 것을 목표로 하는 사업이다.
앞서 군은 지난해 11월 금왕읍 행정복지센터에서 주민설명회를 열고 2026년 국토부 공모 선점을 목표로 금왕읍의 차별화된 도시재생 활성화 계획을 수립하기 위해 머리를 맞댔다.
군은 그간 진행 과정에서 수렴된 주민 소요 조사 결과와 의견을 반영해, 20년 이상 노후주택 집수리를 통한 정주 환경 개선과 함께 빈집 및 나대지를 활용한 마을주차장·소공원 등 기반 시설 확충을 중점 과제로 도출했다.
사업의 지속 가능한 운영을 위해 공동체 활성화를 지원할 조직을 마련하는 방안도 세부 전략으로 제시했다.
군 관계자는 “이번 공모사업 추진 과정에서 주민과 지속적으로 소통하고 빈틈없이 준비해, 2026년 국토교통부 공모사업에 반드시 선정될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
한편 국토교통부 주관 우리동네살리기 도시재생사업은 2026년 상반기 공모 신청을 앞두고 있으며, 공모에 최종 선정될 경우 국비 50억 원을 포함한 총 96억 원의 사업비가 투입될 계획이다. 군은 현재 신청 준비 단계로, 상반기 공모에 응모해 좋은 성과를 거둘 수 있도록 최선을 다할 방침이다.
