러시아어 노래 한 편이 중앙아시아의 목소리를 지나며 전혀 다른 빛으로 태어나는 순간이 있다. 우즈베키스탄의 가수 세바라 나자르한이 부른 ‘난 거기에 없어요(Там нет меня)’는 바로 그런 재탄생의 노래다. 사랑의 부재를 노래하는 러시아 로망스(romance) 특유의 비애가 그녀의 목소리를 지나며 투명한 절제로 바뀐다. 마치 사라져가는 감정의 흔적을 마지막 한 방울까지 받아 적는 목소리처럼.
