<브레이크뉴스 속초=이용하 기자> 속초시가 시민들이 일상에서 자연스럽게 자원 순환에 참여할 수 있도록 구축한 ‘순환자원 회수·교환 체계’가 실질적인 성과를 거두며 지역 내 친환경 문화를 정착시키고 있다.
속초시는 무인회수기 운영과 종이팩·폐건전지 교환사업을 중심으로 한 시민 참여형 친환경 정책이 일상 속에 깊이 자리 잡으며, 재활용 실천이 생활화되고 있다고 밝혔다.
시는 지난 2023년부터 투명페트병 무인회수기 도입을 시작으로 캔 및 종이팩 무인회수기를 지속적으로 확충해 왔다. 현재 관내 11개소에 총 18대의 무인회수기를 설치·운영 중이며, 이를 통해 시민들이 손쉽게 재활용 가능 자원을 배출할 수 있는 환경을 조성했다.
무인회수기 이용 시 종이팩, 캔, 페트병 1개당 10포인트가 적립된다. 캔과 페트병의 경우 2,000포인트 이상 누적 시 현금으로 환급받을 수 있으며, 종이팩은 전용 애플리케이션을 통해 기프티콘으로 교환할 수 있다.
