포천시는 지난 12일 포천교육지원청 대회의실에서 ‘지역교육협력을 위한 온배움도시 포천시–경기공유학교 업무협약’을 체결했다고 밝혔다. 이번 협약은 변화하는 교육 환경에 발맞춰 기존의 교육협력 사업들을 ‘온배움도시 포천’과 ‘경기공유학교’ 체계로 통합하고 재구조화하기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 협약식에는 포천시장을 비롯해 소성숙 포천교육지원청장, 김성남·윤충식 경기도의원 등 주요 관계자들이 참석해 포천 교육의 새로운 청사진을 공유했다.
협약의 핵심은 지역 내 다양한 교육 자원을 유기적으로 연결해 학생들의 성장을 입체적으로 지원하는 것이다. 양 기관은 이번 협약을 통해 학생 개개인의 특성과 진로에 맞춘 ‘맞춤형 교육’을 실현하고, 학생들이 스스로 학습 방향을 설정하는 ‘자기주도학습’ 역량을 강화하는 데 행정적·재정적 지원을 집중하기로 했다.
포천시 관계자는 “이번 협약은 그동안의 교육협력 성과를 한 단계 계승·발전시키는 중요한 이정표가 될 것”이라며 “지속 가능한 협력 모델을 통해 아이 키우기 좋은 도시, 교육으로 신뢰받는 포천을 만들어 가겠다”고 강조했다.
포천시는 향후 ‘온배움도시 포천–경기공유학교’ 체계를 본격 가동하며, 단순한 기관 간 협력을 넘어 지역사회 전체가 교육의 주체가 되는 미래형 교육 도시로의 도약에 속도를 낼 방침이다.
