네이버페이(Npay, 대표이사 박상진)는 iM뱅크(은행장 강정훈) 영업점을 통해 오프라인 통합 단말기 ‘Npay 커넥트’ 신청을 시작하는 등 지역화폐 활성화를 위한 결제 인프라 확충에 나선다고 14일 밝혔다.
네이버페이와 iM뱅크는 대구로페이와 포항사랑카드 등 지역화폐 활성화를 위해 2024년부터 협력 관계를 이어오고 있다. 네이버페이 포인트 추가 적립 등의 혜택이 더해지면서 네이버페이를 통한 지역화폐 이용도는 꾸준히 증가하고 있다. 실제로 지난해 12월 기준 대구로페이 신규 가입자의 42%, 포항사랑카드 신규 가입자의 40%가 네이버페이에 지역화폐를 등록해 사용하는 등 확산세가 뚜렷한 것으로 나타났다.
