고양특례시 일산서구는 지난 12일 기계 노후화로 잦은 고장이 발생하던 일산서구청 내부와 인제대학교 일산백병원, 원마운트의 무인민원발급기를 교체 설치했다.

이번에 새로 설치된 무인민원발급기는 장애인 편의 기능이 대폭 강화된 기기이며 휠체어 이용자가 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 조작부 높이를 낮추고 하단 접근 공간을 확보했다.
또한 화면 확대 기능과 음성 안내 기능을 적용해 시각장애인과 고령자도 편리하게 민원서류를 발급받을 수 있도록 개선했다.
무인민원발급기에서는 주민등록 등·초본, 가족관계등록부 증명서, 건강보험 관련 증명서, 국세 및 지방세 납세증명서 등 17개 분야 123종의 서류를 발급할 수 있으며 대부분 연중무휴 24시간 이용이 가능하지만 기계별로 운영 시간에 차이가 있을 수 있다.
발급 수수료는 대다수 무료이거나 민원실 창구보다 저렴하게 책정되어 있다.
구는 이번 교체 설치를 통해 장애인과 고령자 등 기기 이용에 어려움을 겪던 취약계층의 행정서비스 이용 편의가 한층 높아질 것으로 기대하고 있다.
