현장실습훈련 지원사업은 만 60세 이상 시니어의 고용 촉진과 직업능력 향상, 재취업 기회 제공을 목표로 하는 사업으로, 고령자 고용에 대한 긍정적 인식 확산을 도모하는 사회적 가치형 사업이다.
사업에 참여하는 기업은 60세 이상 근로자를 채용할 경우 유형별로 인건비 및 채용 장려금 등의 지원을 받을 수 있다. 일반형의 경우 시니어 근로자 급여의 50%를 지원하고, 사업 종료 후 6개월 이상 고용 시 최대 270만 원의 채용지원금이 지급된다. 세대통합형은 시니어 근로자가 청년 근로자의 멘토 역할을 수행하는 방식으로 최소 6개월 이상 고용 시 최대 300만 원을 지원한다. 장기취업유지지원형은 채용 근로자를 18개월 이상 고용할 경우 최대 280만 원이 지급된다.
포항상공회의소 관계자는 “시니어 근로자 채용을 통해 지역 산업에 활력을 불어넣는 동시에 기업의 인건비 부담을 완화할 수 있는 실질적인 지원사업”이라며 “수행기관으로서 양질의 일자리를 지속적으로 발굴하고 폭넓은 채용 기회를 제공해 지역 일자리 창출에 적극 나서겠다”고 말했다.
