충남 당진시 고대면의 한 산란계 농장에서 고병원성 조류인플루엔자(AI)가 발생해 방역 당국이 긴급 살처분과 차단 방역에 나섰다.
당진시에 따르면 16일 오전 8시, 고대면 옥현리 소재 산란계 농장이 고병원성 H5형 AI 확진 판정을 받았다. 해당 농장은 지난 15일 오후, 사육 중이던 닭 30여 마리가 갑작스럽게 폐사하자 이를 시에 신고했다.
충남도 동물위생시험소의 정밀 검사 결과, 고병원성 바이러스로 최종 확인됨에 따라 시는 즉시 초동대응팀을 투입해 농장 출입을 전면 통제하고 사육 중인 산란계 2만 7000마리에 대한 살처분 조치를 시작했다고 밝혔다.
이번 확진으로 충청남도 전역의 산란계 관련 시설에도 비상이 걸렸다. 당국은 충남도 내 산란계 농장, 축산 시설, 차량 및 종사자에 대해 24시간 동안 일시 이동중지(Standstill) 명령을 발령한다.
특히 발생 농가로부터 반경 10km 이내를 방역대로 설정하고 집중 관리에 들어갔다. 현재 이 구역 내에는 33개 농가에서 약 134만 마리의 가금류를 사육하고 있어 추가 확산 시 큰 피해가 우려되는 상황이다.
당진시는 해당 구역 내 농가를 대상으로 긴급 예찰과 정밀 검사를 병행하고 있다.
이번 사례를 포함해 2025년 9월 이후 전국 가금농장에서 발생한 AI는 총 34건으로 늘어났다. 축종별로는 닭이 21건으로 가장 많고, 오리 11건, 기타 가금류 2건 순이다.
당진시 관계자는 “겨울철 철새 이동이 활발해지면서 바이러스 유입 위험이 매우 높은 시기”라며 “가금 농가에서는 외부인과 차량의 출입을 철저히 차단하고, 축사 안팎의 소독 등 기본 방역 수칙을 반드시 지켜달라”고 강조했다.
