[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 의령군은 2026년도 가축방역 사업의 원활한 추진을 위해 관내 개업 수의사 4명을 공수의로 위촉했다고 19일 밝혔다.
2026년 공수의로 위촉된 수의사들은 향후 1년간 구제역 등 가축전염병 예방접종을 비롯해 가축 진료, 브루셀라병·결핵 혈청검사를 위한 채혈, 가축전염병 예찰 등 관내 가축방역 업무 전반을 지원하게 된다.
위촉된 가축방역관 5명(공수의 및 공중방역수의사 포함)은 고병원성 조류인플루엔자(AI) 발생 시 역학조사와 예찰·검사, 이동통제, 농가 방역지도 등 현장 대응을 담당하며, 평상시에도 가축전염병 예방을 위한 지도·점검 업무를 수행한다.
의령군은 2025년 공수의 운영을 통해 한우, 젖소, 닭 등 135만9,080두에 대한 질병 예찰과 구제역·럼피스킨 예방접종 5만1,782두, 채혈 검사 1,987두를 실시한 바 있다.
농업기술센터 관계자는 “공수의와 가축방역관을 중심으로 현장 예찰과 예방접종을 강화하고, 발생 시 신속 대응이 가능한 방역체계를 운영해 가축전염병 예방에 철저를 기하겠다”고 말했다.
