속초시는 지난달 11일 노학동 꽃묘장 내 비닐하우스를 활용해 개장한 ‘실내 맨발 황톳길’의 누적 이용객이 개장 39일 만에 1,600여 명을 돌파했다고 20일 밝혔다.
속초시는 그동안 영랑호와 청초호에 맨발 걷기 길을 조성해 연간 10만 명의 방문객을 유치하며 웰니스 관광지로 주목받아 왔다. 하지만 야외 시설 특성상 겨울철 동결 및 안전 문제로 휴장이 불가피해지자, 시는 시민들의 아쉬움을 달래기 위해 꽃묘장 비닐하우스를 활용한 이색 공간을 마련했다.
