브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 제주항공은 항공기 기내에 반입하는 보조배터리 관련 규정을 강화해 오는 22일부터 기내 보조배터리의 사용을 전면 금지한다고 21일 밝혔다.
제주항공은 국내·국제선 모든 승객을 대상으로 기내에서 보조배터리를 사용해 휴대전화나 태블릿PC 등 전자기기의 충전을 제한하기로 했다.
현재 국토교통부의 ‘보조배터리 및 전자담배 기내 반입 관리지침’에 따라 기내에서 보조배터리의 충전이 금지돼 있으나, 제주항공은 22일부터 기존 규정에 기내 보조배터리 사용을 추가로 금지해 리튬이온 배터리로 인한 화재 위험을 낮춘다는 방침이다.
제주항공은 이용객 불편을 줄이기 위해 홈페이지 내 공지사항에 보조배터리 전면 사용 금지 안내를 공지하고, 알림톡과 키오스크 수속 과정에서도 사전 안내를 실시한다. 공항 체크인 카운터에서도 보조배터리 사용 금지에 대한 안내를 진행할 예정이다.
제주항공은 지난해 2월부터 기내에 화재 진압용 파우치를 탑재해 운영 중이며, 국토부의 안전관리 체계 강화 표준안 시행에 따라 3월부터는 보조배터리 단락방지 조치 후 보조배터리를 몸에 지니거나 눈에 보이는 곳에 보관하도록 하고 있다. 8월에는 항공기 내부 선반에 온도 감응 스티커를 부착했다.
또한, 지난해 2월부터 보조배터리, 전자담배 등 리튬배터리 관련 습득 유실물은 즉시 폐기하고 있으며, 4월부터는 고열발생 위험성이 있는 무선고데기의 기내 반입도 금지하고 있다.
