파주시가 시민 생활체육 활성화를 위한 국제규격 파크골프장 조성에 시동을 걸었다.
파주시는 지난 15일 파주읍 일원에서 국제규격 파크골프장 조성을 위한 '타당성 조사 및 기본계획 수립 용역' 착수보고회를 개최하고 본격적인 사업 추진에 나섰다고 밝혔다.
이날 보고회에는 관계 전문가와 시 관계자, 용역사 관계자 등이 참석한 가운데 파크골프장 조성의 필요성과 향후 추진 방향을 공유하고, 용역 수행 일정과 주요 검토 사항을 논의했다.

시는 이번 용역을 통해 사업 환경 및 개발 여건 분석을 비롯해 지역 특성을 반영한 국제규격 36홀 규모의 파크골프장 조성을 목표로 하고 있다.
주요 검토 내용으로는 도입시설 배치 및 공간구성 계획, 경제성 및 타당성 분석, 단계별 추진 전략 등이 포함된다.
김경일 파주시장은 "파크골프는 남녀노소 누구나 함께 즐길 수 있는 대표적인 생활체육 종목으로, 시민 수요가 꾸준히 증가하고 있다"며 "이번 용역을 통해 타당성을 면밀히 검토하고, 파주시만의 특색 있는 체육 기반 시설을 조성해 지역 활력 제고로 이어질 수 있기를 기대한다"고 말했다.
파주시는 이번 착수보고회를 시작으로 중간보고회와 최종보고회를 거쳐 실현 가능하고 지속 가능한 조성 방안을 마련할 계획이다.
