김교흥 의원은 “유정복 시장의 잃어버린 4년 이제는 바로잡겠다. 인천의 자긍심을 드높이고 인천을 더 위대하게 만들겠다.”며 인천시장 출마를 거듭 밝혔다.

김 의원은 유정복 인천시장의 시정에 대해 “인천을 위해 일하라고 뽑아줬더니, 자신의 입신양명을 위해 인천시 공무원까지 동원해 대통령 선거에 출마했다.”며 “유 시장은 공직선거법 위반으로 피고인이 됐고 공무원들도 재판에 넘겨졌다.”고 지적했다.
이어 “유정복 시장이 제1호 공약으로 걸었던 ‘뉴홍콩시티’는 홍콩 금융기업 단 한 곳도 유치하지 못한 채 ‘글로벌 탑텐 도시’로 간판만 바꿔달았다”며 날 선 비판을 했다.

김 의원은 “저는 말이 아닌 결과로 증명해 왔다”며 “모두가 불가능하다고 했던 인천고등법원을 유치했고, 청라하늘대교 개통, 서울 7호선 연장, 인천대로 지하화, 경인고속도로 지하화, GTX 노선 확대까지 김교흥의 끈질긴 뚝심과 실천력으로 이뤄냈다.”고 힘주어 말했다.
김 의원은 그러면서 △서울까지 20분 생활권으로 ‘속도의 자긍심’ △바이오, 수소, 로봇, 항공 산업 등 미래 먹거리로 ‘경제 자긍심’ △아시아의 할리우드 인천으로 ‘문화 자긍심’ △수도권 매립지 종료, 서해 르네상스 시대로 ‘환경 주권 자긍심’ △공공의대, 체육인프라 확대 등 ‘행복의 자긍심’ 등 5가지 공약을 내세웠다.
특히 인천의 교통 문제와 관련해서 “GTX-B 노선을 정상 추진하고 GTX-D,E 노선은 예타 면제로 더 빠르게 연결하겠다.”며 “인천대로와 경인고속도로 지하화도 조기에 완성해 꽉 막힌 출퇴근길을 확 뚫겠다”고 밝혔다.
