[브레이크뉴스=배종태 기자] 부산시와 부산시교육청이 22일 오전 연제구 부산시티호텔 컨벤션홀에서 '2026년 부산 인공지능(AI) 교육 미래전략 콘퍼런스'를 열고, 인공지능 교육 활성화 방안과 미래 전략을 논의했다.
이번 콘퍼런스에는 부산시와 교육청 관계자를 비롯해 대만 국립사범대학교 쉬팅지아(Hsu Ting-Chia) 교수, 대만 위즈덤가든 교육연구소 홍정 쑨린(Hong-Zheng Sun-Lin) 박사 등 해외 전문가, 초·중등 교사, 민간기관 관계자, 부산시 인공지능위원회 위원 등 70여 명이 참석했다.
3부로 구성된 이번 행사는 ▲학교 현장 사례 발표 ▲전문가 토론 ▲정책 논의 순으로 진행됐다.
1부에서는 현직 교사들이 파이썬 데이터 분석(온샘초 조준혁 교사), 생성형 AI를 활용한 국어·수학·음악 수업(명진초 김병조 교사), 독서 프로젝트(동해중 이예서 교사), 웹페이지 제작 수업(화신중 황병조 교사) 등 실제 교육 현장 사례를 공유했다. 또한 보험연수원과 LG디스커버리랩은 민간의 AI 교육 프로그램을, 대만 전문가들은 해외 교육 사례를 소개했다.
2부 전문가 토론에서는 부산대 박성호 교수, 부산교대 김성원 교수, 부산시교육청 김현구 과장, (사)변화를 꿈꾸는 과학기술인 네트워크 박영민 위원장 등이 참여해 청소년 AI 교육의 전략적 방향과 미래 교육 생태계 구축 방안을 논의했다.

마지막 3부에서는 부산시 인공지능위원회 회의를 겸해 ‘부산 인공지능(AI) 교육 미래전략(안)’과 향후 추진 방향에 대한 정책 논의가 이어졌다.
시는 이번 행사를 계기로 초·중등 AI 교육의 우수사례를 지속적으로 확산하고, 학생과 시민이 함께 참여할 수 있는 대규모 인공지능 체험 축제를 추진할 계획이다. 이를 통해 시민들이 AI 기술을 놀이처럼 즐기면서 부산의 AI 비전을 쉽게 이해하고 체험할 수 있도록 한다는 구상이다.
박형준 부산시장은 “인공지능 교육은 미래 사회를 주도할 ‘생각하는 힘’을 기르는 과정”이라며, “글로벌 AI 허브도시로 도약하기 위해 교육청과 지역 대학이 협력해 AI 교육 생태계를 조성해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

=“AI Education Nurtures the Power to Think for the Future”
The Busan Metropolitan City Government and the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education held the '2026 Busan AI Education Future Strategy Conference' on the morning of January 22 at the Convention Hall on the second floor of the Busan City Hotel in Yeonje District. The event focused on sharing best practices in AI education and discussing strategies for fostering future talent.
More than 70 participants attended the conference, including officials from the city government and education office, overseas experts such as Professor Hsu Ting-Chia from the National Taiwan Normal University and Dr. Hong-Zheng Sun-Lin from the Wisdom Garden Educational Research Institute in Taiwan, elementary and secondary school teachers, representatives from private institutions such as the Korea Insurance Training Institute and LG Discovery Lab, as well as members of the Busan Artificial Intelligence Committee.
The conference consisted of three sessions: classroom case presentations, expert discussions, and policy deliberations. In the first session, teachers presented practical classroom examples such as Python-based data analysis (Jo Jun-hyuk, Onsaem Elementary School), AI-assisted Korean, math, and music lessons using image-generating and coding tools (Kim Byung-jo, Myeongjin Elementary School), a reading project using generative AI (Lee Ye-seo, Donghae Middle School), and web design lessons based on “vibe coding” (Hwang Byung-jo, Hwasin Middle School). Private-sector educators and overseas experts also shared AI education programs and global best practices.
During the second session, experts including Professor Park Sung-ho of Pusan National University, Professor Kim Sung-won of Busan National University of Education, Director Kim Hyun-gu from the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, and Park Young-min, Chair of the Science Education Committee at the Scientists and Engineers Network for Change, engaged in a panel discussion on strategic approaches to youth AI education and policy development.
The final session served as a meeting of the Busan AI Committee, where participants discussed the draft of the *Busan AI Education Future Strategy* and the city’s forthcoming policy directions.
Building on this conference, the city plans to expand outstanding AI education practices across elementary and secondary schools and to organize a large-scale, citizen-participatory AI festival. The event will give students and local residents the chance to experience Busan’s AI vision in an interactive and engaging way.
Mayor Park Heong-joon emphasized, “AI education is about nurturing the power to think, which will lead our children into the future,” adding, “As Busan strives to become a global AI hub city, we will strengthen cooperation with universities and the education office to build a robust AI education ecosystem.”
