이날 행사에는 배광식 북구청장과 구의회 의장, 시·구의원, 지역 주민 등 여러 관계자가 참석했다. 참석자들은 첫 삽을 뜨며 국우동 행정복지센터의 성공적인 건립을 함께 기원했다.
신축되는 국우동 행정복지센터는 지하 1층, 지상 2층 규모다. 이번 청사에는 행정복지센터를 비롯해 주민자치센터, 예비군 동대, 주차장 등 주민 편의와 지역 안전을 위한 다양한 시설이 포함될 예정이다. 앞으로 한 공간에서 민원 처리는 물론, 주민자치 프로그램과 지역 공동체 활동이 가능해질 전망이다.
그동안 국우동 행정복지센터는 임차 공간에 머무르며 여러 차례 청사가 이전됐다. 이로 인해 주민들은 행정 서비스를 이용하는 데 불편을 겪어왔고, 민원 접근성과 행정 연속성에도 한계가 있었다. 이번 새 청사 건립은 이러한 문제를 해소해 달라는 지역민들의 오랜 숙원이었던 만큼 의미가 크다.
배광식 북구청장은 “국우동 행정복지센터를 짓게 되어 마음이 참 따뜻하다”며 “공사가 안전하게 마무리될 수 있도록 현장 관리에 최선을 다하고, 공사 기간 동안 주민 불편도 최소화하겠다”고 밝혔다.
북구청은 새 행정복지센터가 들어서면 주민 중심의 행정 서비스 제공은 물론, 국우동 지역의 생활 인프라도 한층 강화될 것으로 내다보고 있다.
