[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 사천시 거북선농촌체험휴양마을 주민들로 구성된 민요팀이 지역 문화의 가치를 알리고 마을 공동체 활성화에 기여해 오고 있다.
이런 가운데 지난 21일 농촌체험휴양마을 활성화 및 지속가능한 발전을 위한 제15회 정기총회 개막식에서 축하공연을 선보이며 행사의 시작을 알렸다.
거북선농촌체험휴양마을 민요팀은 2019년부터 정영애 위원장을 중심으로 마을 주민 10명이 자발적으로 구성한 공연팀으로 전통 민요를 기반으로 한 공연 활동을 펼치고 있다.
이날 축하공연에서는 주민들의 삶과 정서를 담은 민요 공연이 펼쳐져 참석자들로부터 큰 호응을 얻었으며 농촌체험휴양마을이 지닌 문화적 자산과 주민 주도의 지속가능한 발전 가능성을 다시 한번 보여주는 계기가 됐다.
특히 거북선농촌체험휴양마을 민요팀은 2025년 한 해 동안 각종 행사 및 지역 축제 등에서 총 20회의 공연 실적을 기록하며 농촌체험휴양마을의 대표적인 문화 콘텐츠로 자리매김하고 있다.
이는 단순 체험 위주의 농촌관광을 넘어, 주민이 주체가 되는 문화·예술 활동을 통해 마을 경쟁력을 높인 모범 사례로 평가받고 있다.
사천시농업기술센터 김성일 소장은 "민요 공연은 마을 주민들이 함께 준비하고 즐기는 소중한 공동체 활동"이라며 "앞으로도 관내 농촌체험휴양마을을 찾는 방문객들에게 우리 마을만의 전통과 정서를 전할 수 있도록 꾸준히 활동을 이어가겠다"고 말했다.
한편, 이날 거북선마을 정영애 위원장이 농림축산식품부장관 표창을 받았다.
