[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양시가 공공형 계절근로자 선발을 위해 베트남 라오까이성 현지에서 면접과 체력 평가를 실시하고 우수 인력 10명을 최종 선발했다.
시는 남밀양농협이 새롭게 추진하는 공공형 계절근로 사업의 일환으로 지역 농가의 인건비 부담 완화와 안정적인 인력 수급을 도모하기 위해 지난 18일부터 20일까지 베트남 라오까이성을 방문했다.
선발 과정에는 밀양시와 남밀양농협 관계자들이 참여해 근로 희망자들의 성실성, 근로 의지, 기초 체력 등을 종합적으로 평가했다.
시는 2026년 하남·초동지역 일대에서 공공형 계절근로자 10명을 대상으로 시범 사업을 운영하고 연중 인력 수급 현황을 분석한 뒤 2027년 준공 예정인 하남읍 농업 근로자 기숙사를 활용해 공공형 계절근로 사업을 단계적으로 확대할 계획이다.
앞서 밀양시는 지난해 12월 베트남 라오까이성과 계절근로자 유치를 위한 업무협약을 서면으로 체결한 바 있다.
라오까이성 관계자는 "2026년 상반기 공공형 계절근로자를 포함해 총 33명의 계절근로자 입국을 지원할 예정이며 밀양시가 근로자의 안전과 인권 보호에 각별한 관심을 가져주길 바란다"며 "젊은 인력을 중심으로 한국에 대한 관심이 높아지고 있으며 계절근로자 채용이 안정적인 정착으로 이어질 수 있도록 지속적인 협력과 지원이 이뤄지길 기대한다"고 말했다.
