<브레이크뉴스 가평=이용하 기자> 가평군이 지역 약사회와 손을 잡고 일요일과 공휴일에도 군민들이 안심하고 의약품을 구매할 수 있는 ‘휴일지킴이약국’ 제도를 전격 도입한다.
가평군은 지난 22일 가평군청에서 가평군약사회와 ‘휴일지킴이약국 운영 업무협약’을 체결하고, 오는 25일부터 본격적인 운영에 들어간다고 밝혔다. 이번 협약은 휴일 약국 이용 불편을 해소하고 지역 주민들의 공공보건 서비스 질을 높이기 위해 마련됐다.
협약에 따라 가평군은 가평읍·북면, 설악면, 청평면, 상면·조종면 등 4개 생활권역으로 나누어 권역별 참여 약국이 순환 방식으로 휴일 운영을 책임진다.
운영 시간은 모든 일요일과 공휴일 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지이며, 주민들은 감기약, 해열제, 소화제 등 상비약 구매는 물론 병원에서 처방받은 전문의약품의 처방 조제 서비스도 받을 수 있게 됐다.

군은 주민들이 혼선을 겪지 않도록 가평군 보건소 홈페이지 내 ‘건강이야기’ 게시판을 통해 상세 운영 일정을 안내할 계획이다.
서태원 가평군수는 “이번 휴일지킴이약국 운영을 통해 군민들이 휴일 응급 상황에서도 적절한 의료 도움을 받을 수 있는 기반이 마련됐다”며 “앞으로도 군민의 건강과 직결된 밀착형 보건 행정을 지속적으로 추진해 나가겠다”고 전했다.
