[브레이크뉴스=황민성 기자] 밀양아리랑대축제가 문화체육관광부가 지정하는 ‘2026~2027 문화관광축제’로 최종 선정됐다.
문화체육관광부는 2026~2027 문화관광축제로 전국 27개 축제를 최종 선정해 발표했으며, 이 가운데 밀양아리랑대축제는 경상남도에서 유일하게 선정됐다.
문화관광축제는 문화체육관광부가 지역축제 중 우수성을 인정해 선정·지원하는 축제다.
이번 선정으로 밀양아리랑대축제는 2026~2027년 2년간 국비 및 홍보·마케팅 등 지원을 받게 된다.
밀양아리랑대축제는 밀양의 대표 문화자산인 밀양아리랑을 중심으로 영남루와 밀양강 일원에서 펼쳐지는 밀양 대표 축제다.
공연과 전시, 체험 등 다양한 프로그램을 통해 시민과 관광객이 함께 즐길 수 있는 콘텐츠를 선보인다.
올해 제68회 밀양아리랑대축제는 5월 7일부터 10일까지 나흘간 개최될 예정이다.
밀양시 관계자는 “밀양아리랑대축제가 정부지정 2026~2027 문화관광축제로 선정된 것은 시민 여러분이 함께 만들어 온 축제의 가치가 다시 한번 인정받은 결과”라며 “밀양만의 문화와 품격을 담아 더 많은 분들이 찾고 머무는 대한민국 대표 축제로 키워가고, 관광객에게는 잊지 못할 경험을, 지역에는 실질적인 활력을 더할 수 있도록 정성껏 준비하겠다”고 말했다.
