의정부시는 지난해 12월 선정된 ‘복합환승센터 혁신모델 컨설팅 지원사업’이 지난 27일 의정부역 현장답사를 기점으로 본격적인 추진 궤도에 올랐다고 밝혔다.
대도시권광역교통위원회(이하 대광위)와 국토연구원(이하 국토연)이 주관하는 이번 컨설팅 사업은 의정부역 일대의 교통 및 공간 여건을 정밀 분석하고, 복합환승센터 조성을 위한 체계적인 기초 모델을 수립하는 것을 목표로 한다.
이날 진행된 현장 점검에는 대광위, 국토연, 민간 전문가로 구성된 전문 컨설팅단과 의정부시 및 의정부도시공사 관계자들이 대거 참여했다. 이들은 의정부역 주변의 이용 환경과 공간 구조를 면밀히 살피며, 특히 철도와 버스 간의 환승 동선, 보행자 편의성 등 현장 상황을 집중적으로 점검했다.
