대한민국특례시의회 의장협의회가 27일 용인특례시의회에서 제28차 정례회의를 열고 특례시의회 권한 강화를 위한 논의를 이어갔다.
이날 회의에는 김운남 고양특례시의회 의장과 유진선 용인특례시의회 의장, 배정수 화성특례시의회 의장이 참석했다.

협의회는 지난 제27차 정례회의 결과를 보고받은 뒤 이번 회의에 상정된 2개 안건에 대해 심도 있는 심의와 의결을 진행했다.
김운남 협의회장은 "혼자 가면 길이 되지만, 함께 가면 역사가 된다"며 "우리 협의회가 대한민국의 지방자치 역사를 새롭게 쓴다는 자부심을 가지고 있다"고 말했다.
이어 "앞으로도 굳건하게 연대하여 특례시의회의 목소리가 정책에 반영되고, 특례시의회의 독립성과 전문성을 확실히 강화할 수 있도록 모든 역량을 집중하겠다"고 강조했다.
대한민국특례시의회 의장협의회는 인구 100만 이상 대도시이자 특례시 지위를 가진 고양·수원·용인·창원·화성시의회 의장으로 구성돼 있다.
협의회는 분기별 정례회의를 통해 특례시의회 권한 강화를 위한 다양한 활동을 전개하고 있다.
