군에 따르면 이들 시설은 민간위탁 운영을 통해 전문성을 확보하고 다양한 계층이 참여할 수 있는 맞춤형 프로그램을 제공, 군민들의 큰 호응을 얻고 있다.
지난 2023년 10월 개장한 ‘반다비 국민체육센터’는 총사업비 236억 원이 투입된 시설로 수영장, 다목적실, 실내체육관 등 최신식 인프라를 갖추고 있다.
현재 이곳에서는 수영, 그룹운동(GX), 장애인 재활 프로그램, 아쿠아로빅, 필라테스, 줌바댄스 등 총 50개의 다채로운 프로그램이 운영되고 있다.
특히 반다비 국민체육센터는 사회적 약자를 배려한 이용자 구성이 돋보인다. 2025년 기준 누적 이용 인원은 17만 8432명에 달했으며, 이용 계층을 분석한 결과 성인 57.8%, 고령자 28.9%, 장애인 7.9%, 어린이·청소년 5.4%로 집계됐다.
