가평읍 지역사회보장협의체(이하 지사협)는 지난 27일 겨울철 위기가구를 돕기 위한 특화사업인 ‘포근한 겨울나기’를 실시했다고 29일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 한파에 취약한 저소득층 이웃들이 따뜻하고 안전하게 겨울을 보낼 수 있도록 지원하기 위해 마련됐다. 지사협 위원들은 난방비 부담으로 어려움을 겪는 관내 10가구를 선정해 난방용 등유를 직접 전달하며 안부를 살폈다.
지원을 받은 한 어르신은 “기름값이 무서워 보일러도 마음대로 못 틀고 있었는데, 이렇게 도와주니 올겨울은 걱정 없이 따뜻하게 지낼 수 있겠다”며 고마움을 표했다.
노재풍 민간위원장은 “작은 정성이지만 우리 이웃들이 추운 겨울을 이겨내는 데 보탬이 되길 바란다”며 “앞으로도 복지 사각지대 없는 가평읍을 만들기 위해 나눔 활동을 멈추지 않겠다”고 말했다.
장석조 가평읍장(공공위원장) 역시 “유난히 추운 날씨 속에서도 이웃을 먼저 생각하는 지사협 위원님들께 감사드린다”며 “행정에서도 소외되는 주민이 없도록 촘촘한 복지 안전망 구축에 힘쓰겠다”고 전했다.
