<브레이크뉴스 포천= 이용하 기자> 포천시의 낡고 어두웠던 골목길이 안전하고 산뜻한 디자인 거리로 탈바꿈한다.
포천시는 시민들의 보행 안전을 위협하던 노후 골목길을 정비하고 쾌적한 주거 환경을 만들기 위해 ‘골목길 새로고침 사업’을 본격 추진한다고 29일 밝혔다.
이번 사업은 단순히 파손된 도로를 덧씌우는 기존 방식에서 벗어나, 디자인과 기능성을 더해 주민들이 피부로 체감할 수 있는 생활 밀착형 환경 개선에 중점을 뒀다.
이를 위해 시는 지난 28일 읍면동 실무자 등 25명이 참석한 대책 회의를 열고 구체적인 로드맵을 확정했다. 우선 2월 3일까지 전수조사를 통해 유동 인구가 많거나, 바닥 파손 및 지반 침하로 사고 위험이 높은 구간, 차도와 보도가 섞여 위험한 구간을 최우선 정비 대상으로 선정할 계획이다.

새롭게 정비되는 골목길에는 미끄럼 방지 기능을 갖춘 특수 바닥재가 적용돼 보행 안전성을 대폭 높인다. 또한, 각 마을의 특색을 살린 색감과 디자인을 입혀 칙칙했던 골목 분위기를 밝고 화사하게 바꿀 예정이다.
시는 사업의 속도를 높이기 위해 제1회 추가경정예산에 사업비를 반영하고, 2월 말까지 설계를 마친 뒤 오는 4월 초 곧바로 공사에 들어간다. 공사 과정에서 주민 불편을 줄이기 위해 마을 이장 등 지역 주민들과도 긴밀히 소통하기로 했다.
시 관계자는 “이번 사업은 행정적인 실적보다 시민들이 일상에서 느끼는 긍정적인 변화에 초점을 맞췄다”며 “주민들의 목소리를 반영해 가장 필요한 곳부터 안전하고 깨끗한 길을 만들어 돌려드리겠다”고 말했다.
