【브레이크뉴스 예천】이성현 기자=국립경국대학교(총장 정태주) 예천캠퍼스 평생교육원과 대학성인학습자연구교류협의회(이사장 강대중·서울대학교 교육학과 교수)는 지난 1월 26일부터 28일까지 2박 3일간 '대학성인학습자 교류포럼 U3A Winter Camp in Yecheon'을 개최했다고 밝혔다.

대학성인학습자 교류포럼은 성인학습자가 사회에서 보다 주체적인 역할을 수행할 수 있도록 대학과 지역 간 네트워크를 확장하기 위해 기획된 행사로, 이번 포럼에는 전국 대학의 성인학습자와 교수자 등 200여 명이 참여해 성황을 이뤘다.
이번 행사는 국립경국대학교 글로컬대학추진단 지원사업의 일환으로, 국립경국대학교 예천캠퍼스 평생교육원과 대학성인학습자연구교류협의회, 경상북도인재평생교육진흥재단이 공동 주관했다. 대학성인학습자연구교류협의회는 지난해 서울대학교에서 교류포럼을 개최한 바 있으며, 2026년도 첫 행사를 예천에서 열게 됐다.
행사는 △성인학습자 평생교육의 지역사회 기여 플랫폼 구축 △지역 인적 연계를 통한 지역 문제 해결 △지역 성인학습자 인재 양성의 지속 가능한 체계 확립 △성인학습자 중심의 지역 평생학습 생태계 혁신 △대학과 지역의 상생 발전을 이끄는 인적 자원 육성을 주요 목표로 진행됐다.
1일 차에는 강대중 이사장의 개회사에 이어 임재환 국립경국대학교 글로컬대학추진단장의 환영사와 이장식 경상북도평생교육진흥원장의 축사가 이어졌다. 이후 국가평생교육진흥원 변종임 평생교육정책본부장이 ‘고령친화캠퍼스 성공을 위한 대학 평생교육과 지자체 협력의 방향성’을 주제로 특강을 진행하며 초고령사회에서의 대학과 지역 협력 모델을 제시했다.
발표 세션에서는 상지대학교, 국립경국대학교, 연성대학교 소속 성인학습자 3명의 사례 발표와 함께 부산과학기술대학교 김인호 교수, 전주대학교 미래융합대학 교수이자 원민브랜딩랩 대표인 원민 교수의 주제 발표가 이어졌다.
2일 차에는 국립경국대학교 인문사회학부 강윤정 교수의 임청각 역사 고증 특별강연 후 현장 방문이 진행돼 참가자들의 이해를 도왔다. 이어 예천캠퍼스 문화체육관에서 열린 만찬을 통해 대학 간 성인학습자들의 교류와 소통의 시간이 마련됐다.
마지막 3일 차에는 예천박물관장의 특별강연을 통해 예천 문화재의 가치와 최근 동향을 살펴보고, 중앙대학교 교육학과 이희수 교수의 ‘성인학습자를 위한 평생직업교육의 방향과 역할’ 특강이 진행됐다. 이후 삼강문화단지 체험을 끝으로 행사가 마무리됐다.
강대중 이사장은 “대학의 평생교육과 인문 여행을 결합한 이번 포럼은 시니어 세대의 학습 의욕을 고취하고 지역 문화에 대한 이해와 공동체적 소통의 장을 구축하는 의미 있는 성과를 거뒀다”며 “행사를 주관한 국립경국대학교 예천캠퍼스 평생교육원과 관계자들에게 감사드린다”고 말했다.
최정숙 국립경국대학교 예천캠퍼스 평생교육원 원장은 “200여 명이 참석한 대규모 행사를 성공적으로 마무리할 수 있어 뜻깊다”며 “앞으로도 성인학습자가 지역사회와 대학을 잇는 핵심 주체로 성장할 수 있도록 교류와 협력의 장을 지속적으로 확대해 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.

Kyungkuk University Yecheon Campus Successfully Holds 'University Adult Learner Exchange Forum'
Kyungkuk University (President Jeong Tae-joo) Yecheon Campus Lifelong Education Center and the University Adult Learner Research Exchange Council (Chairman Kang Dae-jung, Professor of Education, Seoul National University) announced that they held the 'University Adult Learner Exchange Forum U3A Winter Camp in Yecheon' for three days and two nights from January 26th to 28th.
The University Adult Learner Exchange Forum is designed to expand networks between universities and local communities, enabling adult learners to play a more proactive role in society. Approximately 200 adult learners and professors from universities nationwide participated in the forum, making it a great success.
This event, part of a project supported by the Kyungkuk University Glocal University Promotion Team, was co-hosted by the Kyungkuk University Yecheon Campus Lifelong Education Center, the University Adult Learner Research Exchange Council, and the Gyeongsangbuk-do Human Resources Lifelong Education Promotion Foundation. The University Adult Learner Research Exchange Council held an exchange forum at Seoul National University last year and will hold its first event in Yecheon in 2026.
The main goals of the event were: 1) establishing a community-contributing platform for adult learner lifelong education; 2) resolving local issues through regional human connections; 3) establishing a sustainable system for nurturing local adult learners; 4) innovating the local lifelong learning ecosystem centered on adult learners; and 5) fostering human resources that drive the mutual development of universities and local communities.
The first day featured opening remarks by Chairman Kang Dae-jung, followed by a welcoming address by Lim Jae-hwan, Director of the Glocal University Promotion Team at Kyungkuk National University, and a congratulatory address by Lee Jang-sik, Director of the Gyeongsangbuk-do Lifelong Education Promotion Agency. Following this, Byeon Jong-im, Director of the Lifelong Education Policy Division at the National Institute for Lifelong Education, delivered a special lecture on "The Direction of University Lifelong Education and Local Government Cooperation for the Success of Age-Friendly Campuses," presenting a model for university-local cooperation in a hyper-aging society.
The presentation session featured case presentations by three adult learners from Sangji University, Kyungkuk National University, and Yonsei University. This was followed by keynote speeches by Professor Kim In-ho of Busan National University of Science and Technology and Professor Won Min, a professor at the College of Future Convergence and head of the Wonmin Branding Lab at Jeonju University.
On the second day, Professor Kang Yun-jeong of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Kyungkuk National University gave a special lecture on historical research at Imcheonggak, followed by a site visit to enhance participants' understanding. A dinner was held at the Yecheon Campus Culture and Sports Center, providing an opportunity for exchange and communication among adult learners across universities.
On the final day, the director of the Yecheon Museum gave a special lecture on the value and recent trends of Yecheon's cultural heritage. Professor Lee Hee-soo of the Department of Education at Chung-Ang University gave a special lecture on "The Direction and Role of Lifelong Career Education for Adult Learners." The event concluded with a visit to the Samgang Cultural Complex.
Chairman Kang Dae-jung said, "This forum, which combines university lifelong education with humanities travel, has achieved meaningful results by stimulating the senior generation's desire to learn and fostering an understanding of local culture and community communication." He added, "I would like to express my gratitude to the Kyungkuk National University Yecheon Campus Lifelong Education Center and its staff for hosting this event."
Director Choi Jeong-sook of the Kyungkuk National University Yecheon Campus Lifelong Education Center stated, "It is meaningful that we were able to successfully conclude this large-scale event with over 200 participants. We will continue to expand opportunities for exchange and cooperation so that adult learners can grow into key players connecting the local community and the university."
