계양구에 따르면, 이번 협의회는 2025년 평생교육 추진 성과를 공유하고, ‘2026년 계양구 평생교육 진흥 추진계획(안)’을 바탕으로 지역 여건과 사회 변화에 대응한 정책 방향에 대해 협의와 자문을 받기 위해 마련됐다.
이날 회의에서는 평생교육 추진체계 안정화, 생활권 기반 평생학습 접근성 확대, 대상별 맞춤형 평생학습 기회 보장 등 2026년 주요 추진 과제를 중심으로 논의가 이뤄졌다.
특히, 2025년부터 추진 중인 성인진로교육 지원사업과 관련해, 계양구는 2026년에도 지역 현안과 성인학습자 수요를 반영해 중장년·신중년 등을 대상으로 한 성인진로교육을 지속 추진할 계획이다.
아울러, 단기 교육에 그치지 않고, 학습 이후 자발적 학습모임 형성과 지역사회 참여 활동으로 연계될 수 있도록 프로그램을 단계적으로 구성해 지속 가능한 진로교육 체계를 구축해 나갈 계획이다.
