이재명 대통령이 최근 새 정부가 출범한 온두라스 특사로 더불어민주당 부승찬(경기 용인병)·이훈기 의원(인천남동을)을 대통령 특사로 파견한다고 청와대가 1일 전했다.
강유정 대변인은 이날 오후 서면 브리핑에서 “온두라스 새 정부 출범 계기로 양국 간 협력 관계 강화를 위해 오는 3~5일까지 부 의원(한·온두라스 의원친선협회 부회장)과 이 의원(한·온두라스 의원친선협회 이사)을 대통령 특사로 온두라스에 파견한다”고 밝혔다.
그러면서 “특사단은 온두라스 신임 대통령을 예방해 이재명 정부 국정 철학·대외 정책을 설명하고 양국 관계 발전 관련이 대통령 메시지를 친서와 함께 전달 계획”이라고 전했다.
특사단은 온두라스 의회 의장 및 주요 인사들과 만나 한·온두라스 관계를 더욱 강화해 나가려는 정부 의지를 전달 예정이다.
또 경제·문화·인적 교류 등 다양한 분야 협력 확대 방안 관련해 의견을 나눌 계획이다.
